“I asked God for strength that I might achieve; I was made weak that I might humbly learn to obey. I asked for help that I might do greater things; I was given infirmity that I might do better things. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life; I was given life that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hope for; almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I among all men am truly blessed”

AMT is over now...

As I already wrote before, these couple of months have been a busy time for me. As for the office work, you know how busy it is to be a secretary. This one really sucks up my energy I couldn't do job that I really love: learning with my students. I gave up the teaching stuff for some noble reasons, so help me God. And as always, God loves me very much so He balanced my life. In addition to the super busy work, my team and I were given grant to do some research we proposed. Researching is also one of my things (besides gossiping and traveling hehehe). So here I am, reporting the research activity progress.

As for Januari 2009, we've done with site visiting stuffs and research report stuffs. We gotta get going to do training stuffs. The training itself is divided into 2 parts: part one is achievement motivation training (AMT), and part 2 is technical training for the worm and recycling paper. As planned before, the AMT will be in 2 days: today and tomorrow, from 9 am to 3 pm. I would have to volunteer my already short leisure time, and I was ready for that. Sure you will have to be willing at all time in order for your life to be meaningful. That's the axioma of life by Debby synthesized from other wise people.

Back to my activity, today was supposed to be our first out of 2 days of AMT. We invited as many as 20 housewives from Al Bahar to the faculty to be taught. Unfortunately there were only 10 of them who could make it this day. Other housewives were busy doing their job as a mother or as garbage pickers. Omigod...are we going to halt today's training or doing other training for the rest 10? Both were really unwanted situations.

As I started the training with my other fellow students and co-researchers, it was very obvious for me that the 10 housewives could really be change agents for their community. And most importantly, they could be the experimental group, and other housewives who would join up in the technical trainings could be the control group. This was really blessing in disguise, ugh...thank God. I presented my idea to MEM and WD, they agreed with me. This really means much: first I don't have to organize another AMT training, second, our method is getting clearer and clearer, and third, we save up money of course. Some unexpected expense are occuring these days, so saving money is really important for us since we have 3 more months to research the community after all the trainings get done.

There was another saving money condition: the 2 days AMT could be done in only 1 day, of course with time extension today. But I didn't mind at all...as long as I don't have to do this tomorrow. I really really thank God for this, because this means I could have an undisturb sunday tomorrow. Oh you dunno how precious that one is for me now. Sounds like I'm not very willing to carry out the day as I told you above? No...not all...It's just a grateful feeling that you can do some rest as God told you to do, rite?

Happy sunday everybody....

PS. Prof Coenen has yet found me a promotor :((( I should ask him why...he's coming to Indonesia this week.
